The Union Cabinet will today discuss the Group of Ministers' (GoM) report on Telangana and the draft bill on the creation of the new state.

Emerging from an hour-long meeting last night, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde told reporters that the GoM has completed the process and the Cabinet will discuss the recommendations on Thursday.

"The Cabinet took a decision on October 3 to form a Group of Ministers, and they wanted recommendations from the Group of Ministers. The final meeting has taken place, and the recommendations will be discussed in the Cabinet tomorrow,' he said.

The Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Shinde, was constituted to address all the issues that need resolution at the central and state government levels in the matter.

Earlier on November 18, GoM completed the process of discussions with various stakeholders from the Telangana, Seemandhra and Rayalaseema region.

On October 3, the Union Cabinet had decided to go ahead with the process for the creation of a separate Telangana state carved out from Andhra Pradesh.
