Israel and Hamas have reportedly accepted a 72-hour long truce brokered by Cairo.
The ceasefire came into effect at 21:00 GMT on Sunday and is expected to allow the two sides to negotiate a long-standing ceasefire, reported the BBC.
Although Israel and Hamas exchanged fire through Sunday evening yet no ceasefire violation has been reported from either side ever since the three-day long truce began.
If the agreement holds, Israel has agreed to send its negotiators to Cairo on Monday.
About 2000 people have been killed in the conflict which began on July 8.
