A California judge has ruled that Uber must face charges that it discriminates against blind passengers after the company attempted to have the case thrown out.

According to PCWorld, the lawsuit concerns various alleged incidents in which Uber discriminates against blind passengers.

The lawsuit represents another battle over whether Uber should be governed by the sale rules that cover taxis, buses and other public transportation companies.

The lawsuit also alleged that Uber contravened two California laws and the Americans With Disabilities Act while Uber X drivers refused to offer rides to blind passengers and their animals.

The National Federation for the Blind of California (NFBC) brought the case to the fore saying that it documented around 40 such cases.
