British Prime Minister David Cameron has vowed that Britain will 'never buckle' in the face of terrorism while condemning a sickening attack on a British solider in broad daylight.

Cameron called an emergency Cobra meeting after a man, believed to be a soldier, was killed in broad daylight by two suspected terrorists in Woolwich.

He said that the incident was the most appalling crime, adding that there were strong indications that it was a terrorist incident."

According to the Mirror, horrified witnesses to the incident reported that they saw two black men attacking a young man, who was wearing a Help for Heroes t-shirt with a machete.

The victim was allegedly hacked to death, with some suggesting his attackers tried to behead him.

Home Secretary Theresa May also condemned the "sickening and barbaric attack".

In the footage, which was obtained by ITV News, a man with bloodied hands addressed the camera and appeared to justify his actions with references to Islam.

A statement from the Muslim Council of Britain said it understood the victim was a member of the Armed Forces.
