Taking pot shots at Rahul Gandhi for saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is obsessed with power, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said it would be unwise to blame the Congress vice president for being so infatuated with the Prime Minister who has been constantly working for the nations' development.

"Rahul Gandhi seems to be obsessed with Prime Minister Modi and I don't blame him because Modiji is doing such good work," BJP leader Shaina NC told ANI.

Further training guns at Rahul, Shaina said he should stop misinforming the senior leadership of Congress on the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme and instead focus on core issues which makes difference in public sphere.

"He should contain making unnecessary comments on OROP. It has been implemented by our Prime Minister which was not even thought of for 60 years, where Rs. 5500 crore has been dispersed. So before he spreads wrong information to his senior leadership, I want him to focus on core issues which make a difference to public," she added.

Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi chaired the crucial Congress Working Committee (CEC) in the absence of party president Sonia Gandhi who was unwell, and launched an all-out war against the Centre saying that Prime Minister Modi is obsessed with power.

Rahul asserted that democracy, under the ruling dispensation, is going through one of its darkest hours and that the government is silencing all those who disagree with it.

Listing out a range of issues highlighting the failures of the NDA Government, Rahul emphasised that the Centre is trying to hide its failure behind numbers that have been widely doubted and questioned.

"Selectively chosen corporate are favoured, not the aam admi. Youth, even those who have good education, face the spectre of unemployment. Famers' suicides and agrarian unrest have increased to astonishing levels," he said.

Rahul called on the Congress gathering to continue its fight to expose the "comprehensive failure" of the Modi government on all fronts.
