Ahead of the floor test in the Goa Assembly today, state Congress president Girish Chodankar said he "can't make a prediction" about who the MLAs will side with.
"Let's give an opportunity to the legislators who are going to vote. If I tell you about what the MLAs will do in the assembly, I will be taking away their right. I cannot make a prediction about the floor test," Chodankar told ANI here on Tuesday.
Newly-appointed Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said he has the support of 21 legislators and will pass the floor test in the Assembly today.
"We have 21 MLAs and hence we are definitely confident of not having any problem in floor test, we will surely prove our majority," he said.
The Legislative Assembly of Goa has a total strength of 40 members, out of which four seats are currently vacant.
Sawant was administered the oath of office by Goa Governor Mridula Sinha int he wee hours of Tuesday. Along with Sawant, 11 other members of the Goa Assembly were also sworn in as ministers of the new cabinet.
The former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly took oath as Chief Minister a day after Manohar Parrikar passed away following a prolonged illness.
