A Canadian snowboarder has revealed that visiting athletes in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi have been banned from fishing in the toilets.

Competitors heading to the Games, which begin on Saturday, will find an unusual list of dos and don'ts awaiting them as they prepare to settle into the athletes' village.

According to Metro.co.uk, Canadian snowboarder Sebastien Toutant has tweeted a picture of the sign greeting athletes in their rooms, which explains what is expected of them and their bathroom etiquette.

Among the regular rules asking athletes to refrain from standing on the toilet and being sick in it, one unexpected rule prohibits fishing in the toilet bowl, the report added.
