Expressing his displeasure over cancellation of the music launch of "Ghar Wapsi", in which Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali was to take part on January 29, director-producer of the movie Suhaib Ilyasi on Wednesday said and it was sad that the program had to cancelled in a BJP ruled state when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying hard to improve relations with Pakistan.
Ali's event scheduled for January 29 was earlier cancelled in view of security threats to him.
"It is very disappointing that we had to cancel Ghulam Ali Sahab's program. We had to face great pressure and stress, and we did not want Ghulam Ali sahib to face anything. Prime Minister Modi had taken a initiative to improve relations with Pakistan and it is sad that Ghulam Ali's sahibs program had to cancelled in a BJP ruled state," Ilyasi told ANI.
"This will send a very wrong message across the world. Shiv Sena should help PM Modi to improve ties between both nations," he added.
Stressing that Pakistani ghazal singer was an ambassador of peace, Ilyasi said that Ali is has sung a patriotic song praising India in the movie.
