American legendary actress Polly Bergen has passed away at the age of 84 at her home in Southbury, Connecticut.
Bergen, who gained fame from her role of the terror-stricken wife in the original 'Cape Fear', died due to complications from emphysema as she was a regular smoker, Deadline.com reported.
Bergen kickstarted her film career working in comedy with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis in 'At War With the Army', followed by 'That's My Boy' and 'The Stooge'.
