A teenager was charged almost 180,000 pounds for a large margherita pizza by Domino's.
The 19-year-old from Newport, Nathaniel Bolwell, had ordered a large margherita pizza worth 17.99 pounds, but he later realized that the American restaurant chain had overdrawn 179,000 pounds from his bank account, the Mirror reported.
The shocked teenager, who was paid back two days later, said that even the "poshest meal in the poshest restaurant" with all his friends and family wouldn't have cost as much.
Bolwell's 40-year-old father added that people are joking that instead of a cheese and tomato pizza it must have been made of gold leaf and diamonds.
A spokeswoman for Domino's said that they the issue was flagged by their merchant provider due to the amount and a reversal of funds was put in place but the payment was authorized by the customer's bank which caused the inconvenience.
Lloyds Bank has also apologized for the inconvenience and has offered Bolwell 100 pounds in recognition.
