Megastar Amitabh Bachchan at a promotional press conference for his courtroom Drama 'PINK' said casting Andrea Tarian in the film was a deliberate and conscious decision.
Talking about the intend behind the move, the 73-year-old actor said it was to show that people from north-east are an integral part of the society and any sort of biased behaviour against them is entirely unacceptable.
"It was a conscious decision to take Andrea in the film. We know the people of north-east are treated in some other way. Our question is, why does that happen? We have even brought up that issue in the courtroom scene," said the blockbuster star adding, "We hope people understand whatever we wanted to say through the movie."
Along with Amitabh Bachchan and Andrea Tarian, the movie also features Tapsee Paanu, Kirti Kulhari, Angad Bedi.
Directed by national award winning filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, 'PINK' speaks about women empowerment and is out at the box-office.
