India has lost the wicket of opener Shikhar Dhawan on the first day of the second Test against England being played at Lord's.

England bowler James Anderson claimed Dhawan's wicket in the second over of the match caught in the slips by Gary Ballance for his individual score of seven.

Earlier, England won the toss and decided to bowl first on a pitch with a decent covering of grass.

With the first Test ending in a draw, both sides are fighting for an advantage in the five-match Test series.

Before the toss, England captain Alastair Cook said that the pitch is certainly a very green in colour, and added that he did not feel there would be much sideways movement.

Cook's opposite number Mahendra Singh Dhoni said he had thought of having a bowl first, but the toss willed otherwise.

Dhoni said there wass an even spread of grass which makes the wicket look good.
