A Delhi court on Wednesday granted two day transit remand to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for taking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Dinu Bogha Solanki to Ahmedabad.

The CBI had arrested BJP MP from Junagarh, Dinu Bogha Solanki yesterday, in connection with the murder of RTI activist Amit Jethwa.

Earlier, Solanki was questioned by a special team of the CBI here, and later he was booked by the agency. He was earlier given a clean chit by the Gujarat Police.

The CBI had registered a case on the directions of the Gujarat High Court, which in its order had criticized the state police for their shoddy investigations in the murder case.

Amit Jethwa, an RTI and environment activist, was shot dead outside the Gujarat High Court in July 2010.

Meanwhile, Amit Jethwa's wife Alpa said: "I am happy that my husband's murderer has been arrested by CBI. I hope he gets death penalty.
