The Secretary-General, Interpol, Robert K. Noble, has complimented the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for demonstrating professionalism and willingness to share its expertise to effectively combat trans-national organized crime.

In a message to the Central Bureau of Investigation on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee year, Noble congratulated the CBI and said it had displayed a leadership role on several occasions, including when it co-hosted with Interpol two important regional programmes.

Noble said the CBI has become a powerful and respected international voice.

He further added that during the last five decades under leaders beginning with D.P.Kohli and continuing with the Director Ranjit Sinha, the CBI's strong commitment to international law enforcement cooperation placed India at the forefront of global policing.

Noble said with India's booming economy relying in great part on its IT infrastructure and industry, the CBI understands the need to engage with Interpol on transnational crimes such as cybercrime, which threaten the security of nations.
