Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta on Sunday said Pakistan had become anxious and frustrated after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong statement on the Jammu and Kashmir, and due to which they violated the ceasefire in Poonch.

"Such attempts by Pakistan are very frequent. Pakistan has become anxious after the Prime Minister's statement and ceasefire violation shows their frustration," Gupta told ANI.

"Whenever Pakistan witnesses some internal feud, for example slogans were raised against them in Balochistan, they attempt to divert attention," Kavinder added.

When asked about Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit's remarks on Kashmir's "freedom", Gupta said, "I think that this dream of Pakistan will never be fulfilled, the Indian Government has made a strong statement that Jammu and Kashmir comprises not only of three regions, but the fourth part Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is also our and we will take it back. The proposal in this regard has also been passed in the Cabinet."

Pakistani troops today violated the cease-fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector. The forces from across the LoC resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on Indian posts around 3 a.m during wee hours. Troops guarding the borderline retaliated the firing and exchange of fire was going on intermittently when the last reports came in.

However there is no report of any causality or injury to anyone on the Indian side so far. It has happened after a lull of over four months, the ceasefire on the LoC was violated again by the Pakistani army in Poonch area.
