Celebrity Big Brother's bosses have already struck a deal to take the series to Mars in 2024.

The TV chiefs want to send 24 housemates to Mars, which will cost a staggering 4 billion pounds and 704 people have signed up even though they face eight years of training, the Daily Star reported.

A Dutch foundation led by businessman Bas Lansdorp, who is behind the Mars One project and has already struck a deal with an offshoot of original Big Brother firm Endemol, said that they want to send the first four settlers to Mars in 2024 and additional teams will follow.

Wind energy entrepreneur Lansdorp said that the money needed to finance the mission will come from broadcasting rights and he is in negotiations with American company SpaceX to use their seven-man Dragon V2 space vehicle.

He added that there will be a living unit for each along with inflatable greenhouses to grow vegetables. Water will be extracted from ice particles from the soil and some of it will be broken down to provide oxygen, while solar cells will generate electricity.
