Centre grants relief to Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland for floods, landslides

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the High Level Committee (HLC) to provide Central assistance to Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland in the wake of flash flood and landslides.

The HLC approved the assistance of Rs. 103.30 crore to Arunachal Pradesh, including Rs 81.69 crore from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) and Rs 21.61 crore from National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP).

While Rs. 28.60 crore has been allotted to Nagaland, including Rs 25.89 crore from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) and Rs 2.71 crore from National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP).

Union Minister for Finance Arun Jaitley, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Radha Mohan Singh, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officers of the Ministries of Home, Finance and Agriculture also attended the meeting.
