The Central Government on Friday launched three Aadhaar-based services to authenticate beneficiaries before delivering services to them .

The services are authentication using the Iris, one time pin received on registered mobile number and e-KYC (Know Your Customer).

Besides these, aadhaar kendra permanent enrolment centres will come up to facilitate enrolment of residents left out during camps organised by registrars of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in the past.

Launching the services, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia said the Aadhaar identity platform would infuse greater efficiency in the present services delivery system.

UIDAI Chairman Nandan Nilekani, however, said the authority will now scale up enrolment to achieve the target of enrolling 600 million residents by 2014.

The e-KYC service will enable individuals to authorise service providers to receive electronic copy of biometric and demographic data while the Aadhaar kendra permanent enrolment centres will also serve as update centres for residents who want to update the data.
