Expressing deep concern over Pakistan firing at Indian boats off the Gujarat coast, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Majeed Memon on Friday said the Centre must deal with this issue on a war footing.
"Modi Government must take up this issue on a war footing and give a befitting reply to Pakistan, or stop Pakistan from doing this, or raise this issue at the international level," Memon told ANI.
"This needs serious consideration. We can see that Pakistan is doing this and many jawans and fishermen have been killed. They do unprovoked firing and violate ceasefire. This has been happening for the last few weeks. Talks take place and remain unfulfilled and no decision is taken," he added.
An Indian fisherman was killed by the Pakistan Navy off the Gujarat coast on Friday.
A coast guard team has left for investigating the incident.
According to reports, the Pakistan Marinea targeted two boats off the Dwarka coast, which resulted in the fisherman's killing.
