Former external affairs minister S.M. Krishna on Tuesday said the government must warn Pakistan that if it continues to encourage or even tolerate terrorists using its territory to attack India, it would be taken as an aggression against the country.

"Any attack terror attack has to be condemned universally. The Government of India must take very stern action and it must also warn Pakistan that if Pakistan continues to encourage or even tolerate terrorists using the territory of Pakistan to attack India, that it would be taken as an aggression against India," Krishna told ANI.

"I think Prime Minister Modi has a challenge on hand and I'm sure that with the kind of backing he has in Parliament he should be able to tackle it very firmly with Nawaz Sharif," he added.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the terrorists involved in the Gurdaspur terror attack, which has claimed the lives of several civilians and police personnel, are linked to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.
