The Centre has decided to take steps to enhance engagement of Indians residing in other countries in social development philanthropic projects like Namami Gange, Swachh Bharat and Swachh Vidyalaya.
The decision was taken at the fourth meeting of the Board of Trustees of India Development Foundation of Overseas Indians (IDF-OI).
The meeting was chaired by the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
The IDF-OI is a not-for-profit Trust set-up by the government in 2008 to serve as an avenue for overseas Indians to contribute to country's social development efforts.
