Congress leader K.L. Sharma on Monday said that the Congress is expecting the Champaran rally to be a good one and added that it will give a kick start to the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

"We hope to do a good rally as this will give a kick start for the election," Sharma told ANI.

"The rally is on 19th September. We are preparing for that. Our workers are working for the rally. I can't say as to how many people will attend the rally. We have invited Nitish Kumar and Lalu ji. We have sent our invitation to everyone. Lalu ji will not come but his son is coming," he added.

The Congress plans to make the rally at Ram Nagar in West Champaran district a mega affair. The top leaders of the grand alliance, including Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar are expected to attend the mega event.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi had earlier shared the dais with Nitish in the Swabhiman rally in Patna, where she dubbed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government as 'anti-farmer' and lashed out at him for his 'DNA jibe' against the Bihar Chief Minister.
