Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal has said that his side will target a place in the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 tournament in their match against England in Chittagong on Thursday.

A win will establish Sri Lanka's position in Group One while South Africa, in the same group, will also seek an easy win against the Netherlands, on Thursday.

According to Sport24, Chandimal, whose team beat South Africa by five runs in their opening match and then crushed the Netherlands by nine wickets for the lowest ever total of 39 in T20 internationals, said that to win the first match was important for their team and it is that momentum they carried into the second game.

Chandimal also said that they are aware that they can make it into the semi-finals of the tournament if they can win one of their last two games, although he insisted that his side would not take anything for granted as they will never underestimate England, whom he hailed as a good T20 side.

Top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The final will be played in Dhaka on April 6, the report added.
