Asserting that Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli- led government would not be toppled immediately, Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal leader Kamal Thapa on Friday said that rumors and speculations about a change of government were baseless.
He was of the opinion that Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre's Pushpa Kamal Dahal's emphasis on the national consensus government should not be interpreted as attempts to topple the government because the latter had been stressing the need of consensus in order to solve current problems, reports the Himalayan Times.
He said that the incumbent government could continue till the elections to the federal Parliament will be held around two years later.
Thapa urged other political parties including the Maoist Centre and the main opposition party Nepali Congress to seriously consider the rumors likely to spread about toppling the government.
