A Delhi Court on Wednesday framed charges against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler and businessman Abhishek Verma in an alleged cheating case.
The court framed charges against the duo under Section 420 (cheating) and 471(fraudulently or dishonestly using as genuine any forged document or electronic record) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The court also framed charges under a provision of Prevention of Corruption Act.
The chargesheet was filed by the CBI on a complaint of then Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken, alleging that a forged letter on his letterhead was addressed to then prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh seeking easing of business visa norms in 2009.
