Formula One racing team Scuderia Ferrari on Tuesday replaced Kimi Raikkonen with Monacan driver Charles Leclerc in the upcoming 2019 season.
The development came after Raikkonen decided to leave the team by the end of the ongoing season.
In an official statement, Ferrari confirmed that Leclerc will drive alongside Sebastian Vettel in the upcoming season of the F 1.
"Scuderia Ferrari announces that in the next Formula One racing season, Charles Leclerc will drive for the Team alongside Sebastian Vettel," the statement read.
Leclerc took to Twitter and expressed happiness over joining the Ferrari team.
"Dreams do come true... I'll be driving for @scuderiaferrari for the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship. I will be eternally grateful to @scuderiaferrari for the opportunity given. To @nicolastodt for supporting me since 2011. To my family," he wrote.
Leclerc has become the youngest driver after late Ricardo Rodriguez to compete for Ferrari.
