Charlie Hunnam will no longer be playing the role of Christian Grey in the film adaption of the bestselling erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey', citing a busy TV schedule as the reason behind his exit.

Universal Pictures said in a statement that the filmmakers of the highly anticipated flick and the English actor have agreed to find another male lead, given his immersive TV schedule that is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role.

However, the Hollywood Reporter has claimed that the 'Sons of Anarchy' star got overwhelmed with the attention he had received after being cast in the movie.

The 33-year-old actor reportedly got cold feet about carrying such a high-profile project, which was to be helmed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Meanwhile, his former co-star Dakota Johnson will be sticking to her role as Anastasia Steele in the film.
