Charlie Sheen's father Martin Sheen has admitted that he felt powerless when his son had a public breakdown in 2011 and he wasn't able to help him out.

The 'Badlands' actor said in an interview that his son broke down when he got chucked out from 'Two and a Half Men' for lobbing vitriol at executive producer Chuck Lorre and at that time he wasn't able to do anything rather than just praying for him and lifting him up, News.com.au reported.

The 74-year-old American actor added that the one who knew him only understood what was going on that he was in a very desperate situation and for his closed ones it was very painful.
