Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has backed Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur as a 'big contender' for the title, saying that the club is one of the six possible champions this season.
Mourinho's side go into Saturday's match against Tottenham fourth in the table, two points behind second-placed north London club.
According to the BBC, Mourinho said that he believes that Tottenham is a big contender for the PL title this season as they have bought players with quality, adding that the title race this time is more open than during his first spell as Chelsea boss between 2004-2007.
The Portuguese however, said that as six teams are competing for the position, any of them could win the title, adding that it was a clear race between Chelsea and Manchester United during his previous stint as Chelsea boss until Manchester City broke the period of dominance of the two clubs.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had also said six teams are challenging for the title, and added that Liverpool and Tottenham have joined United, Arsenal, City and Chelsea as realistic contenders.
