Cher has confessed that she doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving.

The 67-year-old singer responded to a fan's query on Twitter by saying that for her and her family, it's a day when everyone is free for dinner and a movie, not celebrating the beginning of a great crime.

The singer, who has Native American Cherokee roots, elaborated that it was like stealing land from people who believed owning land was like owning sky, Contactmusic reported.

She added that it was like giving them blankets laced with smallpox.
