Two Naxals were killed in two different encounters that took place in Bijapur near Borje on Sunday.
The bodies of Naxals, along with arms and ammunition, have been recovered by security forces, including a 12 bore rifle, a country-made bharmar rifle, a tiffin bomb, a 303 rifle, a bharmar rifle, and other materials.
In addition to the Naxal fatalities, a Gopaniya Sainik 36 personnel sustained injuries on his neck in the encounter that took place in the jungles of Nilamadgu and Korinjed.
Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg said, "The exchange of fire took place for about 40 minutes, after which another reinforcement party of District Reserve Guard (DRG) was launched. Naxals fired upon the second party at around 4 pm. After the firing was over, the body of an unidentified Naxal along with arms and ammunition was recovered during the search operation. In another exchange of fire between Naxals and security forces that occurred in the jungles of Nilamadgu and Korinjedthat, a security personnel was injured. During the search operation, another body of an unidentified Naxal with arms was recovered.
