Chhattisgarh CM celebrates Guru Parv

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday attended the Guru Parv programme organised at Khalsa school here.

The Chief Minister also visited "Neki ki Diwar" at Bhagat Singh Chowk.

Earlier in the day, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation on the occasion.

In a message, the President said, "Guru Nanak Dev gave us an enlightened message of peace, harmony and unity of all human beings."

Prime Minister Modi tweeted, "On Guru Nanak Jayanti we bow to the venerable Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and recall his noble thoughts."

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab and Guru Parv, is observed by the Sikh community across the nation on this day to mark the 548th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the 10 Sikh Gurus.
