The first phase of Assembly elections will be held in Chhattisgarh tomorrow.

Eighteen Constituencies spread over eight districts in south Chhattisgarh will witness voting tomorrow, while the remaining 72 segments will go into polls on November 19.

Out of the 18, 12 constituencies are in the Maoist-affected tribal Bastar region, while six are in Rajnandgaon division.

Polling in Maoist infested constituencies will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., while in other constituencies voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The results of the Chhattisgarh elections, along with those in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi, will come out on December 8. The State, currently ruled by BJP, has a 90-member House.

Meanwhile, unprecedented security arrangements have been made to conduct smooth polling for which nearly one lakh paramilitary forces are manning the region in the wake of Maoist call for poll boycott.
