The Maoists are planning to threaten peaceful conduct of upcoming assembly polls in Chhattisgarh.
Citing intelligence inputs, Chhattisgarh Director General of Police (DGP) Ram Nivas said that his men are on high alert to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.
"About issues related to Maoists concerns, the preparations that they are adopting, we are tracking the latest news about these. We even have information about the kind and speed of their activities they are planning direct from their own grounds," said Nivas.
"In elections, there will be a great amount of general people gathering to cast their votes as well as VIPs will also be present at the electoral booths, hence we are on high alert," he added.
The Director General of Police further said that they had noted down information about their moves.
"Everyone has the right and wish to contribute to the governing bodies. They want to contribute their meager to the chief body under whose surveillance they are living, from their side in the state," said Nivas.

"If difficult situations are aroused like boycott or the civilians are obstructed to cast their votes during the elections, then it would be an act of violation of civil rights on the part of Maoists. It is not accepted by the Indian Constitution and will be viewed as an illegal act of dominance," he added.
Nivas further mentioned that they would be employing stringent security procedures during the elections.
As voters would turn up in huge numbers and VIPs would be dropping in for invigilation at the electoral booths, the police would be fanning out security personals effectively.
The two-phased polls in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 11 and 19.
The Maoists, who are considered to be India's greatest internal security threat, have off-late intensified their operations in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and some areas of West Bengal.
