Dave Pallone and Late Glenn Burke will be the latest inductees to the National LGBT Sports Hall of Fame joining the likes of other great gay legends like Martina Navratilova, Greg Louganis and Jason Collins.

The recently setup 'Hall of Fame' for LGBT sportsperson aims at honouring gay athletes and their supporters who have been neglected over the years because of their sexual orientation.

According to CBS News, the hall of fame will encourage gay and lesbian youth to take up careers in sports.

Executive Director Bill Gubrud said that the establishment of the first hall of fame, honoring gay athletes and their supporters, was based on changing attitudes about homosexuals among young people.

Gubrud said Chicago was chosen to be hall of fame's home as it is one of the most gay-friendly cities in the United States, , the report added.
