The 68th Republic Day celebration in Arunachal Pradesh witnessed a mass gathering of people from all walks of life.
Governor of Arunachal Pradesh V. Shanmuganathan and Chief Minister Pema Khandu presided over the celebration.
The governor hoisted the flag and accorded permission for the programme to start.
In his speech to mark the occasion of Republic Day, Governor Shanmuganathan extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the citizens of Arunachal Pradesh and also thanked the armed forces, including the police and the paramilitary forces for their vigilance in ensuring peace and security of the state and its citizens.
He also paid tribute to the state's martyrs and recalled the sacrifices of Ashok Chakra awardee Late Havildar Hangpan Dada and Arunachal Ratna Awardee Late Deputy Superintendent of Police Bomto Kamdak.
Governor Shanmuganathan also complimented Chief Minister Khandu and his team for leading the state in a focussed way and promoting emphasis to development.
The event also included a pan-Arunachal and pan-India cultural performance.
