Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has ordered the release of Rs.10 crores to tackle the flood situation in Arunachal Pradesh.

The entire money is supposed to be utilised for emergency repair and restoration works in areas that have been struck by landslides and floods.

Tuki has also sought flood relief assistance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi by writing a letter in which he has informed the latter of the state's flood situation.

In Arunachal Pradesh, incessant rainfall for the past couple of days has triggered landslides and floods in several parts of the state.

The state's Lohit District is said to be the worst affected by the floods and landslides. Road communication, water and power supply, standing crops and houses are in a poor state.
