Daniel Espinosa is all set to direct a Vilhelm Moberg's acclaimed novel The Emigrants adaptation, it has been revealed.
The 'Child 44' filmmaker will be adapting the Moberg's story of Kristina and her husband Karl-Oskar, who emigrate from Sweden to America in the 1850s and then head across the Atlantic in search of a better life, Deadline.com reported.
Petter Skavlan (Kon Tiki) will be writing the script with financier Svensk's Fredrik Wikstrom Nicastro producing for major Scandinavanian distributor.
The shooting is scheduled to begin in 2017, in the Vastra Gotaland region of western Sweden.
Earlier adaptation was made in 1971 by Jan Troell and was nominated for 5 Academy Awards and even won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.
