A Chilean cyclist's quest to bike around the world across five continents in five years has ended with his death in a road accident in northeast Thailand.
According to Kapook news, Juan Francisco was killed on a road in north-eastern Thailand, 450km away from Bangkok, by an errant pickup driver, News24.com reported.
The collision also injured his wife and child but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Francisco was on the last leg of a five year journey which started in November 2010 and was due to be completed in November of this year in Australia.
