China has for the first time commented on the Sony Pictures' hack and The Interview saying that hacking should be definitely opposed but the depiction of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the movie only shows U.S.' "senseless cultural arrogance".

According to the Verge, China said the The Interview, that mocks Kim is "nothing to be proud of for Hollywood and the U.S. society.

The country also argued that the U.S. stands on the upper stream when it came to the global cultural competition and that America should show some respect instead of being aggressive.

The report however, does not link North Korea and the hacks.

China is seen as a great ally of North Korea that has helped the country keeping afloat despite years of being cut off from the rest of the world.
