China's Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed the outbreak of H5N2 bird flu in poultry in Hebei Province.
The MOA revealed that the avian influenza has killed 4,000 chickens in a farm in Baoding City, China Daily reported.
The National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory recently announced that the epidemic was indeed H5N2 bird flu after testing samples collected at the farm.
Local authorities sealed off and sterilized the infected area, and culled and safely disposed of 125,700 chickens to prevent the disease from spreading.
