The giant statue of Marilyn Monroe which was on display at a local business center in China since the yearend of 2013 has been left at a dump site.
The 8.18-meter-tall stainless steel statue based on the famous scene from her movie 'The Seven Year Itch' and the sculpture 'Forever Marilyn', which was called the tallest realistic Monroe statue, has been torn down and left at a dump site, China Daily reported.
The statue weighed around eight tons and was made over two years by a group headed by South China Normal University professors and was higher than the statue in Chicago which was removed in 2012.
