Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday said that China and Pakistan would look at extending their USD 57 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Afghanistan.
The Chinese foreign minister emphasised it could benefit the whole region.
"So China and Pakistan are willing to look at with Afghanistan, on the basis of win-win, mutually beneficial principles, using an appropriate means to extend the CPEC to Afghanistan," Wang said.
Pakistan, Afghanistan and China also reaffirmed their support for process to bring peace to the war-torn country and stressed the need for a dialogue between the government in Kabul and the Taliban militants.
According to a joint press release, the foreign ministers of the three regional nations at a meeting in Beijing also agreed to strengthen counter-terrorism coordination and cooperation in an effort to combat all terrorist organisations and individuals without any discrimination.
Wange gave the statement after Afghanistan-China-Pakistan trilateral foreign ministers' talks held in Beijing today.
