At least 38 people have been killed and six others injured after fire broke out in a rest home in central China's Henan Province, authorities said.
Xinhua quoted the Henan Provincial Work Safety Administration, as saying that the fire broke out on Monday evening in an apartment building of the privately-owned Kangleyuan rest home in Lushan County, Pingdingshan City.
The six wounded have been hospitalized and a search and rescue operation is underway.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
