Economic co-operation between Cangzhou and India is rapidly growing and in this regard, a bilateral economic and trade cooperation promotion conference was held at the The Claridges on Monday to encourage co-operation in open policy, trade and economic activities between India and China especially in the field of petrochemicals, steel pipes and other equipment.
The focus of the interaction was formalising a business-to-business tie-up and to scout for opportunities for companies in India and in Cangzhou, China.
Cangzhou is a steel pipe equipment manufacturing and exporting base in China and has a 60 % share of the Chinese market.
The city exports steel to more than 90 countries spread across Asia, Africa, Europe and America.
In the petrochemical sector, Cangzhou has over 1,100 enterprises that cover the fields of exploration of oil and gas, petro-chem, chemical materials, pharmacy, chemical fibre, rubber and plastics.

Cangzhou is the largest PVC production base in Asia and the largest TDI production base of China. It is one of the few cities in Asia, which despite being an industrial city, is famous for its clean air, green land, clear water and blue sky owing to the three year green project run by the local government.
In 2014, the import and export volume reached $ 130 million, covering the fields of petro-chem, pipe equipment, ore products, machinery, vehicle parts, electronic appliances with 12 classes and over 100 varieties.
Dignitaries present at Monday's conference included Tang Zhenxing, Director, Cangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Shang Liguang, Cangzhou Party Secretary, Cangzhou Municipal Party Committee and other senior Government officials from China.
Presidents of major steel pipes and petrochemical companies from China also participated in the conference.
Among them were Liu Jinsong, President, Cangzhou Senary Chemical S.&T. Co. Ltd., Liu Sheng, President, Synda Steel Pipe Group Co. Ltd, Yu Jinjun, President, Huanghua Xinnuo Lixing Fine Chemical Stock Co. Ltd. and Zhu Shouchen, President, Hebei Jianxin Chemical Co. Ltd.
From India, senior officials from the Federation of Indian Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME), including C.S Goyel, Vice President, FISME, Anil Bhardwaj, Secretary General, FISME, Mukesh Kalra, Joint Secretary, International Trade, FISME and Pankaj Bansal, Treasurer, FISME participated along with heads of various small and medium Indian companies related to chemical and steel.
