China's state council initiates probe in chemical plant's blast

China's state council has constituted an investigation team on Friday to probe the Chenjiagang Tianjiayi chemical plant's blast, in which at least 47 people have been killed so far.

The team, which is headed by the vice minister of China's emergency management, Huang Ming, has already initiated its investigation.

The explosion that took place on Thursday in the chemical plant has also left 90 others seriously injured.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 on the Richter scale was also reported and it is speculated that it occurred due to the impact of the blast. The residential buildings, schools and vehicles in the vicinity of the plant were also reported to be damaged.
