The Chinese Government has criticized US for charging five Chinese military officials with cyber theft, warning of disintegration of military ties between the two countries.

The Ministry of National Defense warned that the accusations would jeopardize military relations and described them to be ungrounded, without ulterior purposes.

This branding of charges comes to light when the US government accused five Chinese army officers for alleged hacking, and theft of trade secrets and internal documents from 5 companies and a major steel union.

Amid such allegations, the Foreign Ministry of China declared that it was deferring activities of the China-US Cyber working group, as the US government was unwilling to resolve the issue through the channel of verbal communication.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said that the Chinese Government and military had not engaged in any cybertheft of trade secrets and the US government should withdraw charges of indictment.

According to the China Daily, the Chinese Government decided it would create prohibition of the use of Windows 8 operating system in new government computers to ensure security following the shutdown of Windows XP.

The China government has asked the US ambassador to assemble in Beijing over the incident and insists that the country has itself been a victim of cyber theft, wire-tapping and surveillance activities by the US.
