China has intensified security and patrols in the border area in order to prevent suspected terrorists from illegally leaving for foreign nations to join extreme Islamic forces, said government sources.
One government official said that border police have stepped up security in order to prevent as well as combat such cases.
In recent years, many Xinjiang extremists have fled to Southeast Asian countries where they purchase fake passports and transfer to Turkey or Syria to receive military training.
Through these trainings, they could accumulate practical experience in launching attacks and raising lots of funds, said the official.
