China's Vice Minister of Public Security Li Dongsheng is reportedly under probe over suspected serious law and discipline violations.

According to China Daily, Li is also vice head of a central leading group for the prevention and handling of cult-related issues.

The term 'serious discipline violations' normally refers to corruption, and the recent allegations on Li arrives as speculation swirls about China's former domestic security tsar Zhou Yongkang, who has been put under virtual house arrest for similar charges.
