A Chinese woman's climb to Mount Everest has been marred with controversy, as she took a helicopter part of the way.
Madhusudhan Burlakoti, tourism ministry official said that Wang Jing reached Everest summit with five Nepalese sherpas and she is the first mountaineer to scale Mt Everest from Nepal side, News.com.au reported.
However, as she used a chopper to climb for a big part of the way, the Nepalese officials are unable to decide whether to record the climb as an official ascent of the 8848-metre mountain, he added.
They have climbed just over a month after an avalanche killed 16 Nepalese guides in the deadliest ever mishap on Mountain leading to the virtual shutdown of the world's tallest peak.
